PAINTING POWER IN HADDONFIELD
Painting Services in Haddonfield
Haddonfield was settled in 1682 by Francis Collins, an English Quaker, and later developed by Elizabeth Haddon, whose name the borough carries. The Indian King Tavern, built in 1750, played a role during the American Revolution. In 1858, the first nearly complete dinosaur skeleton found in North America, Hadrosaurus foulkii, was dug up here, and a Hadrosaurus statue now stands on Kings Highway.
Haddonfield is known for its historic homes and walkable downtown, served by its own PATCO station. Painting Power works throughout the borough, near Hopkins Pond and the Cooper River as well as on the side streets around Kings Highway.
LOCAL HOMES
Historic Homes That Reward Patient Prep
Many Haddonfield homes are old and well kept, with original wood siding, detailed trim, porches, plaster walls and old windows. On these homes, the prep is what makes the paint last. That means scraping to sound paint, priming bare wood, re-glazing and caulking windows, and fixing plaster cracks before any finish coat goes on. We also paint newer additions and kitchens so they match the character of the older house.
Weather and Exterior Paint in Haddonfield
Older wood siding, trim and window sashes expand and contract through humid South Jersey summers and freezing winters. That movement opens joints and cracks old paint. Lasting results on these homes come from scraping to sound paint, priming bare wood and re-caulking open seams. If your home was built before 1978, bring that up at the estimate: federal EPA lead-safe rules apply when old painted surfaces are disturbed.
